We are proudly located in historic Forest Park, a charming residential and commercial community minutes from the heart of downtown Birmingham.
Our ideal candidate is a professional who has experience managing a retail store or daily operations for a business in the design field. We’re looking for a self-starter and a problem solver with strong organizational skills. He/she should also have a meticulous eye and have a knack for styling people and interiors.
Job Description:
As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the store's operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, expert visual merchandising, managing the store team effectively as well managing accounts payable. You will play a pivotal role in driving the store's success through your leadership of part-time staff and collaboration with store owner MK Quinlan.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- Lead and supervise a small team of part-time retail staff.
- Work with MK to set clear performance goals for employees, provide feedback, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Foster a fun and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with our customer service guidelines, visual merchandising guide, and our operations manual.
- Sales and Customer Service:
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service.
- Monitor sales performance & analyze sales trends via Shopify, and work with MK to develop action plans to drive growth.
- Work with MK to train staff on product knowledge and our unique sales approach.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory management processes, including intake & pricing in Shopify, stock replenishment, ordering, and inventory control.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with suppliers to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Visual Merchandising:
- Ensure that the store layout and visual displays are visually appealing and aligned with our Visual Merchandising Guide.
- Administrative:
- Pay all recurring monthly bills as well as invoices from our wholesale accounts and monthly payments to our consignment partners.
- Special Projects:
- Work with MK to plan and execute art openings, trunk shows, and other events
- Support MK with new product development and track progress of those initiatives.
- Work with MK to maintain a list of brands that align with our store values and when necessary, spearhead outreach.
- Occasionally assist with content creation for social media/ other.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Store Manager or in a similar retail management role, preferably in a high-end or boutique setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passion for fashion and interiors, and a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Shopify and Google Suite required
- Proficiency in Canva a plus
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
